Gulf University ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of our alumni community. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Gulf University Alumni Portal.

2. Data Collection

• Identity Data: Name, alumni ID, student ID, date of birth, gender, nationality
• Contact Data: Email address, phone number, physical address
• Academic Data: Programme, college, department, graduation year
• Career Data: Employment status, job title, organization, industry, career updates
• Location Data: City, country (used for map visualization and alumni networking)
• Engagement Data: Event attendance, survey responses, discussion posts, messages

3. Location Visibility

As part of our core alumni networking service, your location is visible on the alumni map by default once you complete your profile. This helps fellow alumni connect with you and strengthens the university community. You may opt out at any time through the "Show my location on the map" toggle in your profile privacy settings. Your location will be immediately removed from the map with no caching delay.

4. Advertiser Contact Permissions

To support your career growth, job advertisers on the platform may view limited information about your profile and contact you with relevant job opportunities. This setting is enabled by default as part of the alumni career services. You may opt out at any time through the "Allow job advertisers to contact me" toggle in your profile privacy settings.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your alumni account is active. If you request account deletion, your data will be removed within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records.

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data held by us
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Request deletion of your personal data
• Opt out of location visibility on the alumni map at any time
• Opt out of advertiser contact at any time
